It’s no secret that outside of selling our merch online, we frequent local vendoring events in Southern (and sometimes Northern) California. It wouldn’t be a Steppie booth without spiffying it up a bit aesthetically, and though I was getting comfortable with our current display, I knew that meant it was time for a revamp!

I spent a whole week jotting down ideas and searching the internet for inspiration, and one night came across a photo of a cluster of wooden boxes that sparked the idea for my entirely new table display. It was maybe a bit more elaborate than I had initially intended for, but the design nerd in me couldn’t pass up the challenge. I decided to document the process in photos… lots of photos. But if you’ve got a creative bone in your body, you might find some pleasure in this. So enjoy!

Now onto Steppifying them up a bit…

Though aesthetics were a priority, functionality was definitely my focus — when it came to ease of viewing and accessing the merch, as well as being informative with pricing and details.

And so… our new signage!

And after a week of building, painting, and last minute problem solving, I was finally able to put all the pieces together and debut my new display at World of Dance, LA!

Yay!

There were definitely a few things we learned last weekend that could use some editing, but overall, I was really happy with how the new display came out… and think our customers at WOD also enjoyed it! Working so intently on this project made me really excited for the day I might have the opportunity to design a stationary display — and by stationary, I mean, one that stays put. Like… a retail store? Ha, a girl can dream!
