feature in uci’s newspaper:3

ah, days just seem to come and go so quickly lately!

amidst getting ready for world of dance coming up this saturday, i’ve been traveling to and fro from los angeles and irvine for various occasions. yesterday, i got to make a trip back to my second home (uc irvine) to speak on UBA‘s entrepreneur student leader panel. pretty much an hour of awkwardly speaking about myself and my business and getting grilled with questions from james shen (external chair for UBA). haha, totally joking. it was a chill event; got to sit alongside some pretty ambitious individuals and the students attending were great. thanks james for inviting me to take part!

making a trip down to irvine was perfect timing since i found out the new issue of uci’s newspaper, the new u, just came out. reason why i was excited about this? i was in it! i got interviewed for an article focused on uci entrepreneurs, or “anteater entrepreneurs,” along with friend belinda vong (bybelinda) and new friend dan le (red cup IT). of course, i grabbed a couple copies. i don’t know what i’m going to do with them, but i gave a copy to my parents. geek status.

and my trip to los angeles? ok, it was more like an adventure, if anything, with etsy friend genie (petit plume)! hahaha, she’ll know exactly what i’m talking about. we carpooled over to downtown LA for the unique los angeles vendor meeting at the grammy museum theatre (really nice venue, btw). but no joke, i think LA hates us. missing out on our dinner plans by 15 minutes (twice), getting lost multiple times, and expensive potato cakes… but it was good times, good talks, and by the time we arrived back to our homes in the OC, we joked that it’s like we’ve known each other for years after spending all that time together. she’ll be (officially) joining danni and i at the upcoming uci vendor fair AND ucsd vendor fair! exciting!

but yes, aside from being really informative, the unique LA meeting really got me inspired to amp things up for my booth display at the next show. here are photos from the past one; any advice/suggestions for things i can play around with?

on another note, i’m in love with whoever was in charge of unique LA’s marketing, because my friend/model rwang (and my ninja hoodie!) will be plastered all over los angeles on posters and 20,000 flyers! sonja just notified me that the photo will also be used in web ads for LA weekly, racked LA, and more! ah-mah-zing!
