Official event coverage video from the Steppie 3 year anniversary party!

For quite a bit of time, I had this silly idea for a video concept — I wanted it to showcase all the clothes from all my collections thus far. I guess it could serve as an educational purpose, especially for those new to my brand. But really, I just wanted it to be silly and entertaining! With the anniversary event approaching, I knew it’d be the perfect time to breathe some life into the idea. And so the planning began…

With the huge assistance from Naofumi Kudo (Good Kids Productions) and after long brainstorm sessions at Tea Station and Denny’s, we finally got a skeleton down for the video. I called up good friends Mark and Donald Romain to be the stars of the shoot (they’ve both recently danced back up for Britney Spears and Katy Perry — check them out in Britney’s music video!). We were lucky enough to sneak into a friend’s studio for the day of shooting, and after 3-4 hours of sweaty dancing and lots n’ lots of editing… the video is finally here! We showcased it at the anniversary event, and now it’s up online for everyone to enjoy!

Last week, we put up an auction listing for one VIP gift bag that we had saved for our fans who couldn’t make it out to the 3 year anniversary event. Starting at only $5, we were shocked when the bids grew increasingly in price in such little time — the auction hit a bid of $50 within a mere three minutes! Though extremely shocked, we were humbled to see just how enthusiastic and eager the bidders were to have the gift bag for themselves!

It was definitely an epic battle, but we are proud to say that after 30 intense bids, the winner of the VIP gift bag auction is Michelle Truong at a bid of $125.50! Even better news? All $125.50 is going to be donated to the Cambodian Children’s Fund.

Thank you to all the bidders for your enthusiasm for the gift bag and to support a great cause! And of course, we can’t forget the 20+ designers and businesses who donated their great items to the gift bag! Congrats again, Michelle!

Our 3 year anniversary event wouldn’t have been complete without our special performances for the night. A huge thank you to Jenny Suk and Tim Ferguson for traveling all the way from San Francisco to bring some awesome acoustics to our event, and to CADC (with the direction of Addison O’Connor) for revamping their set to feature my Spring 2011 collection.
