Along with the anticipated release of the new Spring 2013 collection, I’m also thrilled to finally release Steppie Clothing’s brand new, revamped online store!

For those who have shopped with Steppie Clothing before, it’s no surprise I’ve been an avid member of the Etsy handmade community for a while now — six years, to be exact! I made my first official Steppie sale on July 11, 2008 through Etsy (random fact: it was an original painting), and it’s that very transaction that sparked my curiosity and enthusiasm to start a business. Back then though, I was able to find a “safe zone” with seeing it as more of a hobby than an actual full-blown business. But one sale turned into ten… then 100… then 1000… and over time, I found a bit more confidence to step outside of that “safe zone” and actually take this business thing seriously. So moral of the story? Without Etsy being a platform and venue for my creative passions, the Steppie brand may have never grown to be what it is today.

With that in mind, it’s a bit of a sad day to say goodbye to something I’ve grown so comfortable with. That’s definitely overpowered though with the excitement of growth, and taking that next big step. I started to realize that my control over my customers’ shopping experience via Etsy was limited, and it was at that point when I realized I may have outgrown the very place I once found intimidating. So with 8,000+ Etsy transactions on my belt, I’m confident to move on and provide you with an even better shopping experience!

Aside from the obvious aesthetic improvements, the new online shop has many functional improvements as well — easier navigation, no need for membership registration, availability bars, quicker check out process, among other things that make for an overall improved shop experience. I do forewarn you that with everything new, the new shop may have some hiccups here and there, but I’m eager to work out the kinks immediately with the help of your assistance through feedback and suggestions. So please, do not hesitate to contact us with feedback — negative or positive — on the new online store!
